BOOK CLUB! &not just any book club, The Empowered Shelf Book Club. This is where we read personal development / self help books and then actually implement the concepts.

idk about you, but I’m a self help book fanatic! There’s nothing I love more than browsing the wellness & woo-woo section o a book store 😅

…but I started getting into the habit of flying through the books without taking the time to absorb what I’ve learned. Sound familiar?

The Empowered Shelf Book Club is seasonal for a reason - we read 4 books a year so that we’re not overwhelmed and we have time to let the concepts sink in.

We meet IRL twice a year and virtually twice a year to discuss the book (btw there’s just something about discussing the book with a group that helps the principles sink in).

Then, about a week after each meeting, I create and share a workbook on how to implement the concepts from the book 🤓

I always learn something new when I chat about the book with the people inside this book club, it’s so much fun! and I would love to have you join us

Have you ever said this? “I need a drink right now”. I get it, you might FEEL like that’s true, but here’s what you’re actually saying ⬇️

I need support right now.

Maybe you’re: overwhelmed, scared, stressed, lonely, sad, angry, confused. You’re looking to solve a problem, and I promise you that alcohol is just a bandaid, it’s not the solution.

I’m not 100% sober, I advocate for unpacking your relationship with alcohol & determining if you need to: stop drinking, or moderate. I spent the last four years unpacking my relationship to alcohol, and now I no longer drink when:

- I feel like I “need” one
- I’m in a bad head space
- I want to blend in
- I feel socially awkward
- I have to work the next day
- I’ve gone through a major transition or hardship
- I’m feeling anxious

I know that none of the above is a valid reason to drink because what I’m actually seeking in those moments is a solution to a problem, a problem that alcohol won’t solve but may actually make worse 😅

Because of my self-awareness 95% of the time I realize, I don’t actually want a drink! so I don’t have one.

The recent election politics and discourse online made me feel like I “needed” a drink - so I opted for an alcohol-free wine instead 🥂
