Are you done with comparison and ready to re-invent yourself and start living your best and most aligned life?
Don’t worry boo, I got You! It’s time to Re-invent Yourself Using These 3 New Age Tools
Picture this: You’re THAT girl, and you know it. You attract everything you’ve ever desired effortlessly. Your closet is full of pieces that make you confident, you feel attractive in your body and you’re always complimented on your style. You have the friend group you always dreamed of, you’re working with clients or coworkers that are in alignment with your vision. You go to bed every night feeling fulfilled.
Why can’t that be your story? I used to feel incredibly stuck, and honestly, angry. Truthfully, I still feel that way sometimes.
But something shifted in me a few years ago, I decided that I got to choose the kind of life I was living. If I wasn’t happy with the direction that my life was going in, I had the power to turn things around.
Do you want better content? start shooting better content! Do you want a better wardrobe? make a Pinterest board and start saving a percentage of your income so you can go on a shopping spree.
What’s stopping you from living the life you want to live? Chances are, it’s yourself.
I want you to stop holding yourself back and step into the version of you that you always wanted to be!
Let’s dive into how we can make that possible…
Self-Confidence vs Self-Worth
We can’t get into reinvention without first discussing self-confidence and self-worth. Reinventing yourself should be coming from a place of excitement, joy, and play. If you’re looking to reinvent yourself because you feel like you’re “not good enough” as you are, then you have some self-worth work to do.
Self-confidence is knowing that you’re capable of doing something, it’s having a belief in your skills and ability. Self-worth is knowing that you’re worthy of those accomplishments, that you’re deserving and you are valuable.
You could have high self-confidence while simultaneously struggling with self-worth. I recently read “Worthy” by Jamie Kern Lima and was woken up to the difference between the two ( I also highly suggest the book if you’re struggling with self-worth).
Reinventing ourselves will help build self-confidence, but it’s not going to impact your self-worth. Self-worth is so much deeper than the clothes you wear or the job you hold. Understanding this difference is key!
…Now, let’s have some fun, shall we?!
Reinvent YourselfUsing These 3 New Age Tools
1. The Hierarchy of Change
When it comes to reinventing ourselves, many of us are doing it all wrong. We have this belief that if we change our actions we’ll change our life, and while there is some truth to this, we are missing a key step. The hierarchy of change is a personal development tool that shows us how we can create real and sustainable change in our lives.
Similar to other funnel pyramids we start at the top and work our way to the bottom of the funnel. Viewing the pyramid you can see that most of us have it all backwards!
Let’s use the example of running a 10km race. If you had the goal of running a 10km race you might assume that you need to; purchase running clothes, purchase running shoes, join a running club, and start practicing running on a treadmill.
While all of these are great, and you will need to do them at some point, this is only creating change on an environmental level.
When we start from the bottom of the pyramid and attempt to work our way to the top we’re going to be met with resistance. You might wake up and decide “I’m too tired to go to run club today”, you may struggle to build momentum or start experiencing imposter syndrome.
This is because your core identity hasn’t shifted into someone who identifies as a runner.
When we start at the top of the pyramid (or funnel) and prioritize our identity, every single other level of the pyramid becomes easier to achieve. If you identified as a runner of course you would join a run club!
If you identified as a runner, your morning run would be non-negotiable. If we want to create real and sustainable change we can’t just focus on our environment, we have to shift our identity.
How can you shift your identity?
- Identify and clear limiting beliefs using tools like; EFT tapping, meditation, journaling, scripting, therapy, etc.
- Recite affirmations.
- Look for the proof that your identity is true.
- Shift your language, rather than say “I want to run a 10km race” say “I am a runner” or “I am running a 10km race”.
2. Astrology
Okay, but how fun is astrology?! The idea that our destiny has been mapped out in the stars is hella cool. Like most woo-woo girlies, my entry into the personal development space was astrology.
I was that twelve-year-old asking her mom to buy her Teen Vogue at the grocery store so I could flip to the back and read my horoscope. To this day I have creators online that I follow religiously so get the scoop on what’s happening with the planet’s energy! (highly recommend Chris Corsini btw).
Understanding your birth chart is one of the best tools for reinventing yourself in a way that is truly in alignment! I’m going to share two fun and impactful ways you can do this.
Dress like your Venus sign
I typically go for the “Mormon mommy blogger” vibe (IFYKYK), when I was younger my style was more colorful, edgy, and adventurous. But as I neared my 30s I started to get stressed, I felt like my current style made me look like a teenager and I wanted to look like a woman. I ended up purging more than half of my closet and shortly after the pandemic hit
Suddenly my closet was nothing but leggings, oversized t-shirts, and sweaters. Your girl has LOST her sense of style, and honestly, a bit of her confidence. The mommy blogger vibe made me feel more mature, but it also made me feel a little generic and blah.
Cue the Venus placement vibe!!
I came across another creator’s Instagram post where she mentioned dressing like your Venus sign. The Venus placement in your birth chart will tell you which astrological sign you should be dressing like.
According to astrology, when you dress like your Venus placement you’ll be embodying your most authentic self. This will make you more attractive and magnetic, people will be drawn to your energy and vibe.
I immediately pulled up my birth chart and looked up my placement; Aquarius! Apparently, it meant I was supposed to be dressing: edgy, eccentric, and androgynous. I opened up my closet and started pulling pieces that I thought would fit the vibe, some of which I wear often (baggy vintage tees) but none of which I’d ever combine.
Let me tell you… these outfits pulled some confidence out of me! If you’re looking to reinvent and refresh your wardrobe, check your Venus placement.
Steps to Dress like your Venus Sign:
- Download your birth chart, you can use free sites like Astro cafe.
- Look up your Venus placement.
- Open Pinterest and search “Venus in x Style” and “Venus in x Aesthetic”.
- Create a Pinterest board for inspo.
- Use items in your closet or go thrifting to match the vibes of your Pinterest board!
Look up your North Node
The first time I learned about the North Node in your birth chart I was MIND-BLOWN!
The North Node essentially represents your soul’s mission in this lifetime. Consider it the lesson you’re here to learn. If you look at your birth chart you can see what sign your North Node is in, whatever sign is opposite to that is your South Node.
The South Node represents old patterns that are easy for you to fall back in, it’s your shadow self, the toxic patterns you’ve repeated for lifetimes that your soul wants to finally learn from. You overcome these lessons by moving in the direction of your North Node.
If you’re looking to reinvent yourself and start striving toward a bigger purpose or destiny, check your North Node placement!
3. Human Design
Human design is like if astrology and science had a baby. When I first started learning about Human Design I was a bit overwhelmed and confused. I decided that I didn’t need ANOTHER personal growth tool and moved on.
Then I enrolled in MBA by Kathrin Zenkina, and the Human Design module made me fall down a rabbit hole. Sometimes it just takes a different perspective for a new idea to stick. I bought myself a literal textbook on Human Design and the rest was history. Now my husband and I are often referencing our charts and trying to guess other people’s designs.
Here’s how you can use Human Design to reinvent yourself:
Become a manifestation magnet
There is so much information about manifestation out there, but most people are only sharing general info and blanket statements that don’t apply to everyone. Learning your Human Design will help you establish your unique way of manifesting that will turn you into a literal magnet for your desires.
First, it’s learning whether you’re a specific or non-specific manifestor. You can do this by looking at your chart and seeing the arrows at the top left. If the bottom left arrow is pointing to your left you’re a specific or active manifestor, and if it’s pointing to the right you’re a non-specific or passive manifestor.
Specific Manifestors:
Specific manifestors love, no surprise here, specificity. You want the exact images on your vision board, you work best with timelines and plans that map out your manifestations. Of course, you still need to have space for surrender and knowing that the universe has its own plan, but in general, the more specific you are with your manifestations the more you enjoy the manifesting process and attract your desires.
Non-Specific Manifestor:
If you’re a non-specific manifestor you don’t need to have the exact images on your vision board, only general inspiration. You can focus on the feeling rather than the exact destination or visual of your goal. You enjoy the manifesting process more if it’s loose and fluid.
This is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Human Design, diving deeper into your chart will give you even more insight into how to live in alignment with your most true and authentic self.
Activities for Re-Inventing Yourself
- Create a vision board (this can be digital with Canva or old school with magazine image cutouts pinned to a cork board);.
- Dress like your alter ego (what would the baddie version of you wear today?).
- Go somewhere to raise your vibe (grab a coffee at a luxe hotel, or spend the day at the beach).
- Try something new and out of your comfort zone (I’ve recently taken a pottery workshop & tap dance lessons!).
- Read! (grab a new self-development book).
I absolutely love re-inventing myself, as a manifesting generator and an Aries I am impulsive and love trying new things. I hope you enjoyed this post and have the best time diving deeper into identity work, Astrology, and Human Design.
